The Small School is intentionally small—and our tuition reflects the depth and scale of the education we provide. Families are investing in a rigorous, individualized academic program with small-group instruction, a carefully developed curriculum, and the kind of personal attention that is difficult to provide in a traditional classroom.

Tuition supports not only our academic program, but also the experiences that make learning at TSS so rich: regular excursions, outdoor and place-based learning, cultural experiences, special projects, visiting experts, and opportunities for students to pursue their own interests and ideas. We believe these experiences are an essential part of a well-rounded education, not extras added onto it.

We recognize that an education at The Small School is a significant investment. To make our program accessible to a wider range of families, we offer sliding-scale tuition based on family circumstances. There is no proof of income required. Our goal is to build a community where students can benefit from a truly small-scale, private-school-level education without cost being the only determining factor.
